Xacto and Elmers Product Try Out

Xacto and Elmers have sent me some product of theirs to try out. Being the avid crafter/cardmaker I am, I couldnt wait to get these. They arrived and I have video taped it for you to see with me.

This weekend either Sat. or Sun. I am going to get out a couple projects I'm working on and use these products on them. I will be video taping this as well. I can't wait. I have heard many good things about these items! I hope to see you back, we'll try them out together!

Halloween mini

So on a complete and total whim I decided to vodeo my halloween mini, well the start of it anyway!

Please keep in mind it's my first ever and I did it with my iphone so thats why it's skinny like that. From now on (until I get a better camera) I will video sideways to get a horzontal view.

Also i realize it's very dizzying in the beginning - I am trying to get the tags out of the wrong side of the album and put them in the right nside. But if you stick with it it gets much better I promise.

She has her followers choosing between 3 sketches (incidently made by cards that her DT made to highlight her new stamp set) I knew right away I wanted to do this. Then I got to the bottom of the post and read that the winner will get a $50 in house spending spree for her store. She's so generous!

I like the card and how it turned out an all but I just feel like something's missing. And I spent waaaay to much time racken my brain about it. I started this card at like oh 5:30 am this morning having been up since 3am not being able to sleep. So at 9:30am I decided to let it go and be happy with it.

Throw Back Thursday and Twisted Sketches Challenges

Emma over at My Creative Time has started a challenge for thursdays that incorperates using older Cricut Cartridges since there are so many new ones being sold now and they just keep coming! She calls it Throw Back Thursday's. I have been watching for the past 3 weeks, not being able to take part yet due to me and my 2 boys being sick. So I was so happy when I was able to participate this week. This week the challenge called for using the cartridge Doodlecharms. Below is what I came up with.

Also. . . over at Twisted Sketches they have challenge for scrapbook layouts every wednesday it seems. I just found this site today so I believe I read right that it's every wednesday and then they also have a card sketch challenge every Saturday.

And this is what I came up with: (this picture just does not do this justice at all - the colors are very bright and there's alot of detail missing from the picture) I guess I need to invest in a better camera. Clicking on the picture to see it larger lets you see more detail.

I had alot of fun with this challenge because although I should and always say I'm going to, I never scrapbook. So thank you Emma and thank you Twisted Sketches for the inspiration this week.

Mojo Monday Sketch 144

I have been wanting to use this stamp since I got it like MONTHS ago. I found some boy friendly paper that was opened and put aside but not put away. Probably why I hadn't used any of it till today. Totally stumbled upon it when I was picking up. geesh. Then I went to Mojo Monday's site, got the sketch and got started. I wante dto use my piercer on this but I can not find it. I haven't even used it yet and I can not find it. I have a strange feeling my son walked away with it to use it for soemthing he knows he is not supposed to and is afraid to tell me. ~sigh~
I am actually very happy with the way this card turned out. I made soooo many changes to it while making it. I had a whole other idea in mind. I'm glad I just sorta went with it. It seems to happen to me alot that I get started with one thing in mind but end up with something different. sometimes completely different!
anyway, hope you like it.

Super Exciting finds at the buy n sell shop today!!

Ok so I decided that while my 11 yr son was at a CPR class today for 2.5 hrs that I would go to the dollar general store. Went and nothing so was leaving and just b4 I got into my van I looked to my left and saw the buy and sell shop (I have been in there b4) but today it was calling me. So I went over parked and went in. Looked around for a bit. My main interest was old books and paper and I like old post cards too. Look what I found, I am just so excited about it. This book is dated 1909. I LOVE the illustrations and just look at the paper how natually distressed it is from it's age but how beautiful it is. I picked a couple of the illustrations to show that I really liked.

And I also found a glass compartment drawer full of postcards. I went through alot of them but the ones I really wanted to go through were sitting on the bottom of the one I was looking in and I was not about to try and move it myself. But I did find these two that caught my eye and so I bought them.

I just absolutely love the aged images on both these cards. I realy like the second card for some reason. I have a alot of different ideas going thru my head as to how I would like to use it in a project. So, should be fun!

Thank you card and Go to Sketches by Papercrafts

I sold an item on ebay a couple days ago and wanted to include a thank you card for the purchaser. I wanted it to be a 3x3 card and more elegant or simple rather than fun or funky. This is what I came up with:

I made the envelope to match the card. I think I am going make 12 or so 3x3 thank you cards and keep them near so I can include one with eaach sale I make. Same with my etsy store sales.

Also. . . I purchased the Magazine by Papercrafts thats out right now called Go to Sketches. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I have been drooling over all the super awsome cards in it, I just keep finding myself going back to this magazine and looking. I was laying in my room a couple night ago and paging through the magazine and I had an idea **lightbulb** I thought: I should do one of the sketches in the magazine everyday finishing the entire magazine of sketches. and of course posting them to my blog. I think it would be good for me and I think it would be interesting. If you haven't purchased this mag yet but you've been thinking about it, I'm telling you it's well worth the money - you wll love it!

So?? What do you think? Should I put myself to my own challenge? Tell me what you think.

I have some cards I made a while ago and one I made last night to share with you today.

My son's birthday was March 4th and I made this card for him. He really liked it but he is a boy so he very graciously let me keep it to display and post to my blog.

I made this over a month ago when I got some new papers, a 6x6 paper pad by My Minds Eye called Home.

This is a thank you card I made while in one of my many moods to create. I made it a Thank you card because I tend to use those up quite a bit.

I made this one right after the card above. Was just in a mood. you know how it is. PLUS, I could not wait to use my new Unity Stamps from the Club of the Mos from February.

This one was sort of a "promo" card because my aunt ordered a dozen Thank You cards from me to send out with her orders (She sews childrens clothing) I will get her web address on here soon for those who are interested.

This is the one I made last night. I was actually trying to make a card that I thought would be easy to reproduce about 12 or so times to make a set. It's a simple card but I'm still not sure that I want to make it a set yet.

Thanks for looking at all the cards. I have been wanting to get them posted each one by one but just never got the time. So I hope you don't mind the longer post.

In other news, I have been working on a blog candy to give away. I bought something that I thought would make for for a great giveaway. However I am still getting other things to giveaway along with it. So stay tuned I am sure to have the blogcandy post in the next few days.

I am SOOO excited!

I'ts being held in Chicago Oct 21-23. which is only a 3 hr drive for me. YAY!

I am so glad that somebody went for the gusto with this idea. I have only been crafting for a short time (about a yr and a half - give or take a couple months), while I have always been artistic and have some good artistic qualities (have a good background in art) I have only been stamping, making cards, scrapbooking, etc . . . for just over a year or so and have JUST with-in the last few months started training to sell and going to school to design, to further my career (as it will be) and for what I hope to someday sell my own line of stamps. So this CRAFTYCON comes at a very crucial time for me!

Surprise 50th for my Step-Mother

Good Sunday to everyone! I hope your weekend has been good to you. I had a very busy one. March in general is a very busy birthday month for me. My son's was Thursday, My step-aunt's was Friday and my step-mothers is the 10th. I have an uncle that's birthday was yesterday **HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOWARD!** and a few others in the mix as well.

We had a surprise birthday party for my Step-Mother last night and I made this card for her. I had under 30 minutes to make it and I really didnt think I would be posting it. However, I actually really like how it turned out. You can't really see it in the photo but I placed diamond rinestones in the middles of all the flowers. It was hard for me to capture that.

This is a card I made for my step-aunt for her Birthday which was on Friday. I (unfortunately) had to be quick as I was very tight on time. You can't really tell in the photo (I tried to get a good angle - but just couldn't) but I dry embossed a square around the image. I do like how it turned out, I don't make many "simple/clean" cards so it was out of my element and I was nervous. But I like it.

Keeton LOVES ramen noodles but he has a little bit of a hard time eating them and it's comical (or rather I think it's a tad comical) - I wanted to capture this on video but instead I have some pictures that you should get a kick out of . . . .

This is what I get kick out of, he uses his other hand to help the noodles go into the mouth - hehe
I tell him try twirling it onto the fork honey but he refuses - he says this is the easiest way for him.

This is a card that I made a couple weeks ago. I have had this stamp for something like close to 10 yr's. I bought it because I loved the scenery and wanted to make a card for my father's b-day. Back 10 yr's ago I didnt do much of any stamping/crafting, I really didnt know anything about it. Anyhow, so I have had it for a long time and have always wanted to do something with it (because I never did make that card for my father - hehe) and so finally a couple weeks ago I grabed it. Didnt have a plan for it, just knew I wanted to use it.

EBTKS challenge #9

This is my first time participating in Everything but the kitchen sink sketch challenges.
I follow Kelly Marie's blog Lawn Fawn and absolutely adore her cards and her, and for a while now I have wanted to enter one of thier challenges but have frankly been afraid. The cards people enter are well . . . beyond words really and I was a bit intimidated. However, I finally took the plunge and just went for it.

Here is the sketch:

I had a hard time capturing a good picture of this card. I took many many different pictures at different angles and such but just couldn't get a real decent picture. I hope you all can see it good enough.

Also because I am fairly new at stamping and definitely new to challenges I didn't have a sentiment to add to the card so I figure this can be a "generic" sort of card that I can use for any occasion and write inside to the future recipient.

I have had some kits that I purchased from A Million Memories oh boy, over a year ago that were just sitting in my shelf, so I decided to get them out and scan through them. I finally picked one out and used it to create this card. I absolutely adore thier monthly kits and talked myself into signing up for thier kits again. And I am very inspired to do some more creating with the rest of this kit and the others!

I had a ton of fun with this challenge and I am really glad I decided to do it because digging things out that I have had for a year and 2 years, I couldnt believe the cutest things I was finding.

Did some shopping and so excited!

Okay so I finally broke down and joined the Unity's monthly stamp club. I have been eyeballing it for close to a year now and drooling over all the super fantastic stamps, but for whatever reason was afraid to join. Well I did it and I am SOOOOO glad I did!

Here is what I got:

I am so super excited! I can not wait to start stamping with these. I have all sorts of idea's literally running through my head.

Corkboard Project

Well here it is. I loved the wall corkboard that Karlee at Wanna Be a Scrapper made for My Pink Stamper's Robyn, that I wanted to make one too. Karlee has a video tutorial up on her blog. I went out immediately and got the supplies needed to make it and did it today, having just finished.

I am eh . . . sorta happy with it. I made the ribbon 2 inches apart because it looked like that was about how far apart they were on Karlee's but it seems to me there are too many which I feel caused some veriety in the size of the squares.

All in all though I am happy with it. I'm gona put it up on my wall and display pictures and notes and the such with it. I REALLY like the fabric I chose. I have some left over and I really want to make something else with this fabric. Any suggestions? I also think I am going to get more materials and make a second for my mother. I think she'd like something like this to display pictures and etc . . . hmm maybe my sister would like one too. lol

Remembering

Taking time to remember all of those who have fought and even paid the ultimate price for all of us. So that we may sit with our families at dinner time and talk about how our day went at work, at school or whereever the day took us. So that I can send my child to school safely and know that he will be safe there today and always.

1st Attempt at a Beaded Necklace

I actually made this last Halloween but wanted to share.

I just have it hanging off of a thumb tack in the side of my cd case above me at my desk. I don't know what else to do with it . . .? If I went anywhere for Halloween ever I'd wear it out. But other than trick or treating I don't go anywhere and wearing a jacket or sweatshirt would not allow me to show it off. If you have any suggestions, I'ma listenen.

I made this card for Carolyn King her blog is here My Blog One of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasureof dealing with. A while back, like in June or July I'm thinking, I won some Just Right stamps from a blog candy give away she had. When I recieved the package in the mail I cut her address off and threw the rest of the envelope away. I put the address in a plastic pen holder I have along with another address I was saving. I planned on going back to it after a few days to be able to send her a thank you card. Well I am so disorganized that somewhow it was lost. So after much debate and a couple of months I e-mailed her to tell her and ask for her address and she being the kind of person she is simply said "your sweet, of course" and then gave her address to me again.

I love her stamps - love her blog and can't wait to get this in the mail to her. I hope she likes it.

The butterfly is shimmered with LuminArte's Fire and Ice - you can't really tell but it is.

I used versa mark and ranger's super fine detail clear embossing powder for the image.
and I painted the buterfly with LuminArte coloe Fire and Ice over the cream colored cs.

I really really wanted to make this treat box when I ran accross the tutorial by Tammy over at Dream, Create and Share Blog So thanks so much Tammy for ALL of the awsome creatures you made and posted tut's for.

and here is what I created. No treats yet because I am uncertain what to put in it. If you have any idea please leave me a comment I'd love some suggestion.

Stampin Up's ink - elegant eggplant (for rubbing on the creases of the wings and around the edges)

However, I read the instructions of the swap incorrectly and had to drop out of the swap. So here are the two I got made anyway. I will have them in my etsy shop within the next 24 hours.

Keeton's First Day!

This is my reason for not being able to get anything done and uploaded to my blog for the past almost two weeks now.

I have been so busy getting my baby - not anymore : ( - ready for kindergarten. Today is his first day and he's "a big boy now mommy!" "but don't be sad mommy" he says, "you can have another baby if you want" LOL

Anyway . . . I thought I would share some pictures of his first day. At first he wouldnt cooperate, he DID NOT want his picture taken for some reason. Well he was a bit cranky this morning untill he had breakfast. After he ate and it was time to go, he told me I could take his picture.

And just so were all clear . . . I am not having anymore children - hehe

Okay, I have completed the blog hop for the Caardvarks/Coordinations very first blog hop event both yesterday and today. As I went through the blogs I was so very inspired by all the super duper cards and other projects using this paper! Then I realized . . . I have 2 packs of the Coordination papers and have had them (unopened even) for like a year now.
So I finally got some time tonight and busted the packs out, opened em up and this is what I came up with.

The idea I had in my head for this was completely different than what it turned out to be. As I went along I must have changed my mind like at least 10 times. I am a woman after all, I am allowed to change my mind when I see fit ; )

I like how it turned out. I had to make myself stop though, I just kept wanting to do other things to this card. I wanted vibrant color and I wanted things to stand out. I don't know if I accomplished that but I am happy with it.

I took the card layer and sanded it (mostly in the middle going outwards) till I was happy with it. Then I inked the edges and came up on the card a bit with stampin up tempting turquise. I used basic greys's lime ricky paper for the patterned paper. inked the edges of the orange piece after sanding with stampin up's pumpkin pie. I stamped the palm tree's cut them and pieced them together creating a 3d affect. inserted 3 brads on the edge where the card opens and then stamped the sentiment. the stamps are stampin up as well.

I am soooooooo tired, I have not slept from last night yet. I'm so surprised I made it through the day.

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope your sunday is sailing as smoothly as mine today. We have had a busy weekend. My boys have had somewhere to be Fri, Sat and today. Today however, was a special day (well tomorrow is the real day) kuz it is my niece Taylor's birthday party. It was a pool party! fun fun fun. And this is the card I made for her b-day.
You may not be able to see very well in the pictures but it is a shaker card. I put silver micro-beads in the eyes and nose section of the skull. I used gesso for the pattern I made on the first layer and then I dry embossed the pink layer with my big shot and a sizzix embossing template. Then I used Adirondack mixatives "pearl" and wiped that over the dry embossed pink layer. All in all I am very pleased with how it turned out.

I have been trying to get to making this Thank You card for like a week now. I finally had time to sit down and get it done. I only have 3 more thank you cards to get done this weekend and a birthday card. Hope I get to all of them.

As you can see I have incorperated my acetate lollipop flower into this card. I chose the colors and made the card around the flower. I cased Jessica's Scooter birthday wishes card. I love her cards. I love all thier cards over there at Gina K. Designs

I need to mess around in Photoshop Elements more and get the 411 on all the editing to make my pictures look better. Until then though, I hope you all can get a fairly good view of the cards.

Trust me friends this for me does not happen often kuz, well . . . I have boys. But today was a rather "boring day mom" So I asked them if they wanted to do some crafting. Jordan(my 10 yr old) was watching me watch a video last night on acetate lollipop flowers (Thanks so much Arlene!)and he wanted to try that. I had done one myself last night and I was pleased but I thought the bottom flower was just too large at 2 1/2 inches so for Jordans I took the sizes down a tad the largest flower being 2 inches and away he went! Keeton(my 5 yr old) wanted to make a card for his daddy so I dry embossed apiece a plain white cardstock for him and gave him my luminarts paints and markers to play with. They had fun! I had fun!

Although I'm not sure about you guys but I think Jordan's flower turned out wonderful! I like it better than how mine turned out. What so you guys think?

Saturday morning the morning of the Packers Family Night, at 5 in the morning it stormed something UGLY! and I was all worried the game was going to be affected. but at about 10 or 11 am the sun came out and it turned out to be a scorcher of a HOT day so I started to feel much better about the events to take place that night. Greenbay is 2 1/2 hrs away from where we live in WI so I just felt much better about the drive with the weather cooperating.

We left at 3:30 and headed to meet a few other family members and then at about 4:30 we were on the way to Greenbay and to have loads of fun!!! at the Packers Family Night. We got there at oh I think arounf 6, found parking fairly quickly (we were a train of 3 suv's) got out stretched, got the babies in thier carriers, all children were counted and we started our short walk to the stadium. We got to the stadium marched up step after step after step . . . after step (I was very winded!) - lol - untill we found our setats then because there were 16 of us all together it took us about 15 minutes to get situated.

We were all situated, finally! and ready for the FUN!

Then . . . as you can see in one of the pictures above the storm rolled in. Ugggg. The clouds were dark and it started to sprinkle. As the Onieda Indians started to do there dance (nope not the rain dance - as many joked about - hehe) It was annouced that for our protection because it was a lightning storm, we were to all head to the concourse and wait for updates. Now it was HOT and HUMID! everybody was elbow to elbow in the concourse and dripping sweat. The kids wanted to run around and play, my brothers twins were hungry and crying (thankfully for my sister-in-law anyway they were hungry one at a time, and the older children were super bored and kept asking if we were gonna leave.

After about an hour of waiting with no real end to the storm in site we decided to leave. I later found out that the night was eventually cancelled.

BUMMER! Enough talking . . . here are some pictures - It was super fun while it lasted.

Oh My Gosh! I just checked my mail and I had an envelope from Channel 3000 - I'm thinking why in the world and I getting mail from my local channel 3 . . . I opened it and the letter started: Congradulations! your entry was selected on our website as the winner of a family 4 pack at Noah's Ark! Whoo Hoo! The best part about this is that my day up till then had been going, well lets just say gloomy!

Right now I havent beenleaving information after my cards as to what supplies I use and how I made them because I felt like with just sorta getting out there(I'm still fairly new) that I didnt really need to and that I would do that once I had more followers and.

What do you think? Should I be leaving that information or should I wait till my blog picks up more?

Hello all, I was sifting through SplitCoastScrappers site and stumbled upon this challenge and since I love stitching on cards but havent done so in a while, this was the perfect challenge for me.

Just a little future info: My family and I (which includes me my b/f and our 3 boys)and 11 other members of my family will be attending the packers Family Night game, and I can't wait. Oh don't worry, I will have pictures to share!

K I'm off to relax with my d-b/f and watch some t.v. b4 bedtime. I have a large project ahead of me tomorrow.

A Blogaversary to celebrate . . .

One of the blogs I follow Creating from the Heart is having her blogaversary and in celebration is giving away some very nice candy scoot on over there and check it out!

Today we have been having t-storms on and off all day so the boys and I sat around and watched movies all day. I used to love sitting around with my mother and father and watching t.v. (right in the middle of the two) on stormy days. My boys love it to. So after a very gloomy day alas I do not have a card or any other project to post, however, tomorrow is another story. I have 2 projects to start. One I will finish quickly the other will take me at least a few days. I will have a project to post tomorrow my friends.

Good night (it is 11:05pm here) I'm going to watch my d b/f play ps3 for a bit and then go to bed.

Hello everyone. I have been trying to set aside a time or two perhaps a day to attain to my blog. I started in April as you can see but left it terribly neglected. So I have organized my space and hopefully my mindset and off I go on hopefully a good start to a blog many will people will enjoy.

I made this card a while ago one night when I couldnt sleep. I was up till like 5am making it. Even after I completed it I still wasnt tired. Ever have nights like that?

Well it's late but I wanted to get at least one card posted. I am planning posting a couple more tomorrow.

My brother and sister in law had their twins on Thursday April 16th. I wanted to make a card for them. I actually had something completely different in mind, but I found myself changing my mind and this is what I ended up with. I want to give props where they are due, so I wanted to share the link of the blog that I lifted this technique from, however, in my hurry to get to the hospital I did not save the blog and now I can't find it. I will continue to keep looking (I have to find it eventually - I hope) when I do, I will get it up here.

I should also mention that besides messen around and doing cards to learn techniques and so forth, this is my very first posted card! My journey is really just beginning and I am so super excited!
